With the discovery of the monster, the grumpiness soon disappeared. Georgina was happy! Each monster that was found, would make the world a little bit less grumpy.
Below you can find some historical facts about this wondrous creature:
“His attire featured a grey frock coat with blue buttons and yellow trousers. His hair was green and always wet. He lived in an underground apartment underneath the flowing waters. Even though he looked endearing, this creature wasn’t friendly, not even in the slightest. During the hot summer months, humans sought the much-needed refreshment in the cold waters of the river – something the water gnome didn’t care for at all. If someone entered his domain, he would take out a golden comb from his pocket and comb his hair with it. Paralyzed by this sight, the poor swimmers would usually not reach the safety of the riverbank anymore.
The legend tells of a furrier, who was known as an excellent swimmer. He was proudly showing off his skills to his apprentices when the water gnome caught a glimpse of him. The golden comb was quickly pulled out. The furrier managed to reach the other side of the river, and with his last strength, he pulled himself up onto the riverbank. Our water gnome, however, did not know mercy. It grabbed the poor man by his legs and dragged him underground. He was never seen again.”
