With the discovery of the monster, the grumpiness soon disappeared. Georgina was happy! Each monster that was found, would make the world a little bit less grumpy.
Below you can find some historical facts about this wondrous creature:
“During the Second Turkish Siege of Vienna in 1683, this cannonball struck the old rickety house that stood at this spot. It was a pub, and the owner had the cannonball painted golden and named the house after it. 1883 a new building was erected on the site, with a beautiful facade. The new owner anchored the ball to an iron ring on the wall at the corner to Färbergasse.
A plaque was installed under it that reads “Turkish cannonball from the year 1683 – later attached to the wall and painted golden – gave this public house its name”. “
